The Ka’ba

I love this pic. To me it’s a visual representation of the solidarity of the Muslim Ummah; regardless of where we are from, or what walk of life, we all turn our faces in the one direction and submit to our Creator.

The Ka’ba is the centre of our faith, the unification point, a symbolic “House of Allah”. I imagine Muslims prostrating in ever widening circles around the globe, all facing the one direction.

What I also love is that those people wearing green are the cleaners of the mosque. And because in Islam it doesn’t matter what your profession is, they have the coveted spots right in the front rows. All that matters is your level of Taqwa, or piety, and that is a state of heart, between you and your Lord.
